What is Axis-Y?
Axis-Y is a climate inspired skincare solutions brand, it creates products which are personalised to your skincare concerns based on the climate around you. For their initial launch they have prescribed the 6+1+1 Advanced Formula Skincare line for people with acne-prone and oily skin living in humid climates. Coming from a country which isn't humid, how will the 6+1+1 Advanced Formula Skincare line add up?
Review
Date of Review: November 2019
So for the past few weeks, as the weather in the UK gets colder and harsher, my skin has become more sensitive. With the weather, my skin condition changes and its effects are detrimental as my skin becomes super sensitive and on top of that, having acne flare ups becomes a mood damper.
Most of the times, this would mean I would just need to layer on a thicker cream, but to my dismay, my problems didn’t go away. So low and behold, I tried out the AXIS-Y products, their 6+1+1 line is catered towards the humid weather so I wasn’t sure how it would match with the gloomy, cold, dry climate that we have in the UK, but always worth a shot!
Before we get into it, I’ll give you a quick rundown on my skin type. I have combination and sensitive skin, so my T-zone gets really oily whereas other areas are normal. I have to be careful with what type of products I use on my face as my skin is sensitive. My main skin concern is acne as I have been struggling with hormonal acne since my teen years, however as I age I do get less breakouts but nevertheless I still get some breakouts. But what mostly remains are blackheads and acne scars, so shall we get reviewing?
(!) DISCLAIMER (!): Before adding any new products to your routine, make sure to perform a patch test to check that you are not allergic or sensitive to any of the ingredients.

The cleanser does its job at cleansing, it says that it can remove makeup and it definitely does, I use it to remove any leftover makeup residue which might remain after oil cleansing (It’s so gentle that I could even use it to remove any leftover eye makeup – panda eyes from waterproof mascara). I personally like that it doesn’t foam up a lot so it isn’t as messy for me when cleansing. A month in, I realised that after cleansing my skin feels softer and clean.
After a month of using it, I still have half a bottle left so I believe it is worth your money!

The toner has a slight cooling effect which I imagine would feel amazing in more humid climates, however if you are sensitive to alcohol I’d avoid this product. This is because I also used it for a bit but I started realising that my skin was getting irritated with some redness and irritation on my cheeks. If you do try out this product, make sure to test it out on a small patch of skin to test out for irritation. If you do get any irritation whilst using the toner, make sure to stop using the toner immediately.

My favourite in the line is by far the ampoule, my skin’s barrier has improved a lot and is less sensitive, and definitely what I will need during the winter when my skins condition seems to be at its worse. It also quickly absorbed into the skin so it doesn’t feel like I’m applying a load of products on my face. Within a month I finished the bottle and already looking towards my 2nd bottle, I used this day and night because I felt like I needed it and the addition of the ampoule wouldn’t make my face greasier than it should.
One thing you should definitely keep note of is that you should be patting this product into your skin rather than massaging it into your skin!

I had high hopes for the serum, but I didn’t really see a big difference when it came to my acne scars. However, I have only used it for a month so it might not have come into effect just yet, it is supposed to make a gradual change with consistent use over at least 3 months. So I will have to wait and see.
One thing I definitely liked about this serum was how quickly it absorbed into my skin, after applying toner and ampoule sometimes I don’t want to add a serum because it feels like I’m just piling on a lot of products to my skin. However, as this absorbs almost instantly into my skin I didn’t feel like it was too much, so it became a part of my everyday routine.
Final thoughts:
Even after a few days use of these products I noticed a difference, my skin barrier had repaired and my skin become so soft and smooth.
With this line of products I have used the COSRX Oil-Free Moisturising Lotion and it has helped with controlling my oils, even during the winter my skin can get a little oily, but with the line up of products my oils have been tamed!
Overall, the cleanser, ampoule and serum have made a noticeable difference to my skin texture, it is so soft and smooth. So if you have texture issues with your skin, this line will definitely come in handy.
For skin barrier repair, I would 1000% recommend the ampoule because I can vouch that this ampoule has saved my skin and made it less sensitive.

The dark spot glow serum for sure – the ingredients look fab (niacinamide being my favourite!) as it’s so useful for my acne prone skin!
